Disneyland - Day 1

Waiting to go in the Disneyland gates on our first day!

Well I seem to be on a roll right now with my blogging so why not go for my fourth post of the day? I have so much to cover with our time at Disneyland. It was super, amazing, fantastic fun! Remember a couple of posts back when I mentioned that a very kind stranger gave us some coupons for magical extras at Disneyland? Well, we put them to use right away. Disneyland opened at 9:00, but Mickey's Toon Town didn't open till 10:00. These passes let us in to Toon Town a whole hour early to ride, play and meet Mickey and the gang. What a treat!
Meeting Mickey Mouse. Just moments before this picture I pleaded with Carter, "please get in the picture and smile for me, please!" He is notorious for refusing to participate or smile at the last minute. But he was in a good mood!

A Toon Town prison.

Clowning around in a cartoon car.
After our fill of Toon Town, we headed to the classic It's a Small World ride. Now it wasn't the boys favorite ride, but come on, you can't go to Disney and skip that ride.
From there it was off to Tomorrow Land, which was where we spent a large portion of time. The boys were excited to ride Nemo's Submarine Voyage, Autotopia, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters and get to be part of the Jedi Training Academy. Both Hunter and Connor were chosen among the group of kids who were Jedis in training. Here they are getting ready for the Padawan training.

After learning a quick routine with their light sabers, the bad guys arrived on the scene - Storm Troopers, Darth Vader and Darth Maul. Hunter fought Darth Maul and Connor went head to head with Darth Vader.
Darth Vader arriving.

Following our Jedi adventure, the boys were excited that they could actually build their own light saber. Connor and Carter both spent their money to create a custom light saber and bring it home. This was Connor's test run.

Carter riding Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters. He has been excited about this ride since last summer when Beth Wiebe told him about it. And that was way before we even knew we would be going to California.

All the boys waiting to ride Buzz Lightyear.

Hunter and Connor got to ride lots of big kid rides with Todd while I was perfectly content to stick with the slower rides for Carter and Colton.

Colton taking a little break with mom.

Tugging hard at the Sword in the Stone.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Woody and Jesse! We love Toy Story. Wonder why Jesse has no neck?!
Colton with his magic feather while waiting to ride Dumbo.

Our day at Disney was just about done, but we had to ride the Monorail.

And we did a little Disney shopping.

EPIC pictures of Connor and Hunter fighting Star Wars characters! I'm sure the experience will go down in Rapp history. What brave boys...
