Our boys LOVE having Aunt Alexis here. I have to bargain with them just to make sure that Alexis does get some time to herself each day. Well, last night they had a great idea to "do school" with Alexis. The boys wanted to be the teachers with Alexis the student. Once the idea was planted in their heads, they ran with it. Hunter would be the art teacher, Connor would teach science and Carter would teach spelling, math and Batman 101. Alexis was such a great sport! When she arrived for school she was wearing tall socks, pigtails, her backpack, carrying the brown bag lunch that Hunter had prepared for her and an "apple" for her teacher. We actually didn't have an apple, so Carter decided that a peach would have to work.
It was such a fun thing for the boys to get to be the teacher rather than the student. Hunter had Alexis do sculpture - with Play Doh - and she also worked with watercolors during her art lesson. For Science, Connor taught Alexis about the water cycle - and was all decked out in his "lab coat" which was actually one of Todd's white dress shirts. Finally Carter had Alexis work on some addition problems; he asked her to spell several words and then told her come cool things about Batman for his lesson.
Here is the student with her three teachers!

A peach is just as good as an apple any day. Good choice, Carter. It's good to know that Alexis is getting the best possible education from you boys. You guys are so creative and smart. If the staycation ever gets to be too much feel free to come down to Samford to teach a class or two. Connor, you could teach Emy's science classes, Hunter, you could instruct me in a creative way of presenting my history research, and Carter, you could help me with my math in general...because history majors don't do math well at all. Colton can be the Arts and Sciences secretary and take your phone calls. He would love that! I can see it now..."Tan call you LAYTEOR...?" [nods head up and down]
