K-West Talent Show

Last night was the ever entertaining K-West Talent Show. And while most of the Rapp boys are too reserved to perform, Carter loves it! He has performed in this show for three years in a row. This year he signed himself up right away and started planning his talent. At first he thought about showing off a cartwheel and some other tricks. That plan changed to a new talent that involved a Star Wars costume. But he finally decided on an act that he saw on the television show "Minute to Win It!" With the audience counting down from 60, Carter would stack 10 cups in a pyramid and then strategically take them down.
On your mark....get set....
GO! As he finished his talent, the counselors went crazy. They were cheering and clapping and making such a fuss over him. I asked Carter later how that made him feel to have so many people cheering for him. He said, "It made me feel special." I nodded and said, "The people at Kamp are really nice aren't they?" Then he added, "Yeah, they should call this place Christian City, because everyone here is a Christian."
Now even though they didn't perform, Hunter and Connor were asked to be guest judges for the talent show. Connor decided that he would dress as a judge - literally. He spent all afternoon looking for a "white George Washington wig." He wanted a judicial-looking, white-powdered wig, but this is the best he could find. He did dress in all black and even made a cardboard gavel to take with him as he "judged" the show.
Hunter, on the other hand, dressed in his normal attire. Here is a picture of the judges as they watched the acts in the show.It was a fun night. Thank you to all of the counselors and staff at K-West who make our boys feel so incredibly special each summer. You are a blessing to our family!
