As we talked about this ship, I noticed that the galleon pictured in our book had a British flag on top. Well, we have been talking lots about England and the 13 American colonies. Hoping to capture a teachable moment I asked the boys, "Which country's flag is this?" Connor answered first, "The Beatles!"
Well, the Beatles were from there, but I was really hoping for an answer such as "England" or the "British Empire." We will keep studying.
