Today in science we began to study cells - the building blocks of life. So why not make one! Fill a Ziploc bag full of Karo syrup, add jelly beans, pieces of yarn, a bouncy ball, etc. to represent the little things that float inside a cell. (OK, can you tell that I am making it by the skin of my teeth when it comes to teaching science. Thank goodness for instructor notes and good textbooks.)

I'm a pro with mitochondria, ribosomes and golgi bodies, lol. Maybe I'll be a guest lecturer for science class one day!
