K-West

Being at kamp seems to give our boys a renewed spirit of adventure and the opportunity to be more independent. They love to venture out on their own with just a quick, "Mom, I'll be at the trampoline" or, "Can we go build a fort in the girls' gym." Most of the time I am with them, but this summer because 1) they are older and 2) i am pregnant, thus I am happy to let them go on their own a bit more.

Tonight we enjoyed a quiet evening at K-West because all of the staff members were at K2 for an all-kamp get together. The boys rode their bikes all around kamp and Carter drove our little Gator for a couple of loops around K-West.

One of the favorite activities at kamp thus far has been shooting the BB gun. We do have several rules in place. This is an activity that must be supervised by Todd, no pointing the gun at anyone, no shooting if anyone is nearby, etc. The boys have gotten so excited about this that they decided to make their own target...Star Wars themed. They spent the last two days drawing and coloring Star Wars villians and then assigning point values before placing them on the target. Here they are in front of their giant target board. (Wish I could give you a close up on all of the Star Wars characters they have drawn.)
It has been great to be at kamp so far this summer. Looking forward to the adventures that await us the rest of the summer.
