Tuesday morning we woke early to enjoy breakfast with Unc and Lolly and then packed up the van. We were on the road by 9:30 and made our way to Spartanburg, SC where we had lunch with Nancy, Louise and Walker Tiller. Thanks for much for the hospitality and the delicious lunch Tiller family. The boys loved this stop because the Tiller's had a new puppy named Ziba who was crazy over the boys!! Ziba was jumping, licking and basically crawling all over them.
After lunch it was back in the van and on to Lexington, NC. We met KK and Boompah at the Richard Childress Racing Headquarters where we got a full tour of the racing world! So interesting to see what Aaron's work is all about! We saw the hauler that transports the cars to each race, where the car bodies are assembled, painted, etc. It was pretty fascinating! Uncle Aaron was there so we got to see where he works out and practices with his pit crew team. He came through big time with special presents for the nephews. Die-cast cars of Jeff Burton and t-shirts - thanks Aaron!
We had one more short trip back to Cornelius where we got checked into our hotel and then had dinner at Five Guys Burger. But we weren't done. We headed over to an area called Birkdale where the boys played in these giant shooting fountains. Quite a sight. We finished it off with blizzards at the Dairy Queen!
