This summer I have been teaching the boys the names of God. Every few days we learn a new name, what it means and then read about it in the Bible. Well, a couple of nights ago we were getting ready to pray and I asked if one of the boys would pray for Jacob, a K-West counselor who was injured. Carter volunteered to pray and then asked me, "Mom, what is the name of the healer God?" "Jehovah-Rapha," I answered. Carter then bowed his head and asked Jehovah-Rapha to help heal Jacob's ankles.
What a beautiful moment! As a parent I do pray that my boys will know the character of God - and what we have been learning this summer helps reveal who God is and what He does in our lives.
