The UP house

This summer our boys, with the help of their kid-sitters, built a cardboard house that was modeled after the house from the movie UP. They had a crazy idea that they could make the house fly. Using all of the helium at K-West and lots of balloons they did it! Derek, Ellen and the boys sent the house sailing away in search of Paradise Falls. Well, before the launch, Ellen wrote this message on the back of the house.
That was months ago and honestly we hadn't thought about it in a long time. Until last Friday when Todd came home from work with a letter. It had arrived at the Kanakuk office, addressed to the Rapp boys. Yep, somebody found the UP house. The house made it to Wheelerville, MO (which is about 30 miles - as the crow flies.)
A sweet lady wrote to tell the boys that her husband found the house and approximately 50 deflated balloons when he was out in the woods one day. She included their phone number and said that they would really like to know if the boys had made bets on how far their house would go. Todd did call them and just explained the boys project from the summer. The boys loved it! Couldn't believe that their house had been found. Todd was just glad that we weren't in trouble with the law for intentional littering.
