June 1st - this is the day when kampers arrive at Kanakuk Kamps. We love this day! It is so exciting to see kampers and parents driving in the gates and our crazy staff all dressed up in costumes running to meet the cars. The excitement is off the charts! There is lots to do on an opening day. Usually I see a lot more of the K-West Office than I do of my boys on this day...and today was no exception. Super big thank you to Tiff and Nate Bohon for keeping up with the Rapp boys all day today. Joey - we sure wish that you were here too! I did get to join the family for dinner. We had a picnic on the upper fields and the boys drove their Gator to dinner. Colton was so funny driving the Gator all over the baseball field while we ate. We were all laughing as he drove away and then turned to wave good-bye. I wish we could take the Gator to every meal to keep Mr. Colton entertained. Now Carter doesn't seem to think that Colton is a very good driver so he would chase the Gator yelling, "Colton stop! Colton stop!" Then eventually Carter would commandeer the vehicle from Colton and drive it back over to the picnic tables. So, so fun!
Well, it is time to head to bed. We are so thankful for the amazing job that we get to do here at K-West. What a blessing and a privilege! Praying that the Lord is the focus of all that we do every day! We want kids to be changed by the message of the gospel and we have tremendous opportunities to invest in the lives of these kampers and staff this summer. It will be awesome!
