A Christmas Tradition at the Rapp house

New Pajamas on Christmas Eve! We have done this for the past several years - not a new idea, but a fun one for our family to adopt. Tonight the boys got to open their new pajamas and were super excited. They donned their pj's after showers and we took pictures! The boys were very animated tonight.

My sweet Todd had a great idea for our family devo tonight. He began by asking the boys what things would be like if there was no Jesus. The boys started spouting out answers: "no Christmas, no giving, no love, no presents, no pockets or curtains (courtesy of Carter!). Anyway, Todd went on to talk about how without Jesus, so many other things would not be; including America, and even our family wouldn't be here. As he went through this process he began to shut off the lights in the living room one by one until the room was dark. Then he lit a candle and told the boys that at Christmas, light entered the world with the birth of Jesus. It was a great illustration as the boys thought about why we need the Light in our lives. Truly we have so much to be thankful for as we celebrate Christmas. The Rapp family celebrates Immanuel - God with us - now and forever. May you be blessed as you remember the birth of Jesus!
